Lean Deployment
Lean is not a programme you install. It is a habit of seeing waste and removing it, and the deployment is done when your teams keep doing that without us.
- Capability 1
- Value stream mapping
- Capability 2
- Process improvement
- Capability 3
- Kaizen events
- Capability 4
- Standard work
The approach
Most improvement programmes stall in the same place: the map is drawn, the workshop goes well, and three months later the work runs the way it always did. We plan for that from the start, by building the improvement into the way your teams already measure and run their day.
We begin where the work happens. We walk the process with the people who do it, map how value flows from request to delivery, and put numbers on the delays, rework and handoffs that nobody owns.
Then we fix the few things that matter most, alongside your teams, and leave behind the standard work, the measures and the coaching that let them keep going. Whether the process is a production line, a claims queue or a software release, the method is the same.
- 01
See the work
We walk the process with the people who do it and map the current state, from request to delivery.
- 02
Improve the flow
We remove the biggest sources of waste first, in short cycles, and measure each change against the baseline.
- 03
Make it stick
Standard work, visible measures and trained internal leads, so improvement continues after we leave.
What you get
Deliverables, not a status update.
- 01
Current state map
How work and information actually flow today, with lead time, waiting and rework measured rather than estimated.
- 02
Improvement plan
The few changes worth making first, each with an owner, a measure and a date.
- 03
Kaizen events
Focused workshops that change the process in the room, with the people who run it.
- 04
Standard work
The new way of working written down, simple enough to train and to audit.
- 05
Lean measures
A small set of flow measures on a visible board, reviewed in a regular rhythm.
- 06
Coaching handover
Internal leads trained to run the next improvement cycle without us.
Questions
Answered straight.
- Does Lean only apply to manufacturing?
- No. The principles came from manufacturing, but the same waste shows up in claims processing, onboarding, software delivery and public services, and the same methods remove it.
- How long does a Lean deployment take?
- A first value stream can be mapped and improved in a matter of weeks. A wider deployment runs one value stream at a time, so results arrive early rather than at the end.
- Is this about cutting jobs?
- Lean done well frees people from rework and waiting so they can spend their time on the work that matters. We say that to your teams from the first day, because improvement depends on their trust.
